Food for THOUGHT!

Political Participation, Voting, and the Political Neutrality of the Church

As citizens we have the privilege and duty of electing office holders and influencing public policy. Participation in the political process affects our communities and nation today and in the future.

Latter-day Saints as citizens are to seek out and then uphold leaders who will act with integrity and are wise, good, and honest. Principles compatible with the gospel may be found in various political parties.

Therefore, in this election year, we urge you to register to vote, to study the issues and candidates carefully and prayerfully, and then to vote for and actively support those you believe will most nearly carry out your ideas of good government.

The Church affirms its neutrality regarding political parties, platforms, and candidates. The Church also affirms its constitutional right of expression on political and social issues.

Sincerely yours,

Thomas S. Monson
Henry B. Eyring
Dieter F. Uchtdorf
The First Presidency

Interesting...
Maybe more of us will THINK before we actually vote this year!

So Feeling this!

So I know it has been awhile since I have updated this darn thing....

But right now, I just don't have the time/mentality to post! Plus nada has been going on!

BUT..... I have been pondering these good old Articles of Faith... especially since it's getting to be that time of year again.... Let us all ponder these the next time we try to convince someone who is right and who is wrong....

Articles of Faith 11-12
11 We claim the aprivilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the bdictates of our own cconscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them dworship how, where, or what they may.
12 We believe in being asubject to bkings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in cobeying, honoring, and sustaining the dlaw.

Remember, we are all given free agency, NO ONE can tell us who, what, or how to believe. We should also remember that WE should never tell someone else who, what, or how they should believe as well!

Ah, the joy of Free Agency!

Happy Monday Everyone!
